This time Soundwave shaked his head, protesting. He wouldn’t agree with staying in his own chamber, doing nothing but recharging.
After what had happened yesterday, he couldn't wait to win his credit back. He wanted to prove that he was the right one and Megatron didn’t make mistakes.
“No,” maybe Megatron could sense his eagerness but he didn’t show it. “You’re neither in a good condition nor your most efficient state. As a good warrior, the most important thing is to follow orders. Whatever I decide, I expect you to act accordingly. Understand?” His voice was stern and strict.
Soundwave flinched, he could only nod.
“I said stay in your chamber and you will do as I said.”
“Yes, my lord.”
Soundwave knew he couldn’t say no, Megatron likely would berate him for that.
There was a long way to get there being Megatron’s equal. The fact had dampened his enthusiasm a little.
“Hey Soundwave, take it easy. Your field is almost tangible.” Megatron said in a lower and softer voice, trying to comforting him.
So Megatron knew he was upset. Awkward.
He composed himself, tightening the grip around Megatron’s arm, didn’t know what to expect. His lord let him.
“My purpose was not to remind you to be in your position. I just attempted to make sure you have enough rest before you go back to your work. No battle occurs today so why don’t take your rightful day off?” Megatron petted him on his back.
“That’s not necessary. I am okay and I would rather be at your side.”
That would be called “Recklessness”. Soundwave froze again, mentally criticised himself. How could he speak that aloud! He would be dead in any minute.
But surprisingly he wouldn’t. Because Megatron chuckled happily and lowered his head to press a kiss on the blue mech’s visor.
And Soundwave might find his spark explode.
“I must ask you to allow me to stay with you, instead.” Megatron said gently.
Soundwave couldn’t help but snuggle deeper into his embrace, positioning himself right between his lord’s arms and chest.
Duty could wait.
