Dear fellow citizens of the Netherlands!
In this summer of 1916, I stand before you here at the port of The Hague to express my stance clearly and passionately.
Our beloved Netherlands has always been a peaceful and prosperous nation. We should and will maintain our status as a neutral country in this Great War. We shall not be drawn into the chaos and destruction that this war has brought upon the world.
However, let it be known that we will not stand idly by when it comes to our overseas territories. They are an integral part of our nation, a part of our heritage and our future. We have the right and the responsibility to defend and reclaim them.
We will do this not through aggression or violence, but through diplomacy and determination. We will use our wisdom and our unity to make our voices heard on the international stage.
Let us stand together, with a spirit of peace and justice. Let us protect our homeland and secure our rightful possessions. Together, we can achieve this goal and ensure a bright future for our Netherlands!
Colonel Jacob
