二、注重阅读策略的渗透
掌握有效的阅读策略是培养学生自主阅读的重要条件之一。但小学生的阅读策略尚处于形成期，因此在学习过程中，教师应当逐步培养学生的阅读策略，如速读、略读和跳读等等。课前预习是提高阅读课堂教学效率的前提。人们可能会认为，语文、数学才听说过预习，小学生拼读能力差，词汇量少，而且不是每位家长都能辅导自己的小孩，怎么能谈得上预习呢？其实这种想法大可不必。学生阅读之前教师应及时给学生提供有关课文内容的背景知识材料和预习练习，指导学生预习。课堂导读是提供阅读实践活动的保障。学生在教师的指导下，从篇章结构、主题思想、细节信息到文章寓意等多方面地理解课文。阅读过程可分四个步骤：
1、引入新课——就是把课文的主题呈现给学生，使学生的注意力集中到课文提供的语言情境中来，激发学生的阅读欲望。
2、作出预测——就是预先推测或测定。预测是阅读的重要组成部分，教师可以引导学生根据故事的题目或图片去预测故事的主要内容、可能用到的词汇，教师也可以引导学生根据教师所给的主要词汇预测故事的主要内容和主要句子。
3、设计任务——英语阅读教学必须在主体参与方面解决问题，增加学生参与阅读实践的机会和时间。
