　　It was a beautiful Sunday. Our teacher told us that there would be an English corner after class. I set off soon after the last class in the afternoon.

　　To my joy, the English corner had just been on for a few minutes. I joined them in their talk. At first, I was afraid that my English was so poor and limited that I couldn't follow them or make myself understood. I was also afraid that someone might laugh at me. But a smiling face here and an encouraging nod there soon put me at ease. I became bolder and came to speak English with them freely.

　　The day was unforgettable. I learned a lot of knowledge and made a lot of friends. Through practice, we all improved our English. Though we spoke only in simple English, we all believe that tomorrow we will make greater progress.

　　The Twoay Weekend

　　Generally speaking, twoay weekends are not only a time for us college students to relax, but also a time to improve ourselves. To test from a week’s hard work, we have plenty of recreation opportunities. We can read to our hearts’ content, can go sightseeing, and can play games with our friends. Some students find partime jobs at weekends so that they can ease their families’ financial burdens.

　　However, some students are just wasting their time. Some spend their time playing cards, and even drinking and eating with their friends. Some spend the whole weekend going traveling and feel tired when they return to school, so that their studies will be greatly affected.

　　As a student, I think the first thing I should do is to go over the lessons. Spending two or three hours in going over lessons every weekend will give me great returns. After finishing my schoolwork, I can do many other things, for example, mountain climbing, watching films and skating. In short, if we plan well, we can achieve a bit on weekends. Otherwise, we’ll get nothing.

　　In the first year of my collage, I joined in a volunteer club. The mission of club is to help those people in need. The first activity I participated was to hold the charity sale to collect the money and donation, then bring them to a primary school into deep mountains. The sales was successful as most of the students supported this charity and donated the money and study materials with kindness. On the weekend we brought all the donations to the primary school, we saw the smile on children’ face, and also saw their poor study condition. I felt myself a heavy responsibility to make the change of it. Since then, I would volunteer to be an English teacher in that school every summer vacation, I also encouraged my friends to do something for those children.

　　在我大学的第一年我参加了一个爱心社。爱心社的任务是帮助那些需要帮助的人。我参加的`第一个活动便是举行一次义卖，然后筹集善款，送到山区里的一个小学。义卖非常成功，学生们都非常支持这样的善举，纷纷献爱情捐钱捐学习用品。周末的时候我们带上所有的物资去到那个小学，我们看到了孩子们脸上的笑容，也看到了他们糟糕的学习条件。我感到自己身上有着改变这里的重大的责任。从那以后，我每年暑假都会志愿去到那个学校当英语老师。我还鼓励朋友们也为那些孩子做些事情。

　　we have studied in songpu high school for several months. when i first went into the school gate and saw my new classroom and teachers i thought i would have a new start . the school life is very busy and eciting. there are many activities in our school, such as sports meeting, science week and art week and so on. we all take an active part in it . i have made many new friends and we often help and learn from each other in study. our teachers have taught us a lot . they not only teach us how to study but also teach us how to be a useful person in society. they tell us is a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well and many other things. habit is a second nature, so teachers often remind us to make a good habit.

　　people often said: there is no royal to learning. now i feel it is true. the study now is far more different than before. i often find there are something difficult to understand at once. at this time, you must spend a lot of time studying by yourself or you wont make progress. of course study is hard but when you make progress youll find it is interesting.

　　our school is clean and beautiful. there are many trees and flowers around it. in order to make our school more and more beautiful we should try our best to keep it clean. dont throw rubbish on the ground. we are members of songpu high school.

　　today we are pound of songpu, tomorrow songpu will be prounded of us.
