为了迎接新年，我们学校准备举行英语趣味竞赛。
英语杨老师在班上宣布完这个消息后，其他的同学置若罔闻，我却心血来潮，想参加这次英语竞赛，让老师对我刮目相看。妈妈也鼓励我，说这也是个机会，可以尝试一下。
第二天，我走到杨老师办公室门口，深呼吸了一下，朝着屋内说：“报，报告！”杨老师抬起头，看着我笑了笑。我走到他的桌子前，小声地问道：“杨老师，我…我可以参加这次英语竞赛吗？”我不安地猜想着：名额会不会已经够了，老师是不是不放心我？结果杨老师不但同意我参加，还给了我许多鼓励：“王牧虹，你是整个三年级唯一的一个表演讲故事的。没关系，你大胆去准备，不管结果怎样，重在参于嘛！”
我激动地点了点头，杨老师又说：“你回家要多练习几遍，下个星期二正式比赛。”我满心欢喜地答应了。
回家以后，我选了一个英语小故事——城里老鼠和乡下老鼠。妈妈还给我买来一对可爱的手偶。我每天晚上在家里练习动作、温习台词。虽然已经把故事内容背得滚瓜烂熟，但是我依然刻苦练习，生怕表演时忘了台词，那可就丢人啦！
好不容易到了表演的前一天，杨老师让我给他表演一遍。我特别紧张，虽然还不是正式表演。我很顺利地给杨老师表演了一遍，他说我表演地非常好，准备得也很充分。这些话给了我很大的.自信。
演出前，我的心仿佛要跳到嗓子眼了，真的好紧张啊！上台前，杨老师鼓励我：“不用紧张，只要表情自然、动作协调、台词准确，就ok啦！”他还帮我换衣服——一件漂亮的纱裙，可是，不知怎么了，裙子的拉链怎么也拉不上去。这时我更加紧张，没办法，只好不穿喽！杨老师像妈妈一样温柔地看着我，真诚地微笑着说：“也没关系，重点看表演，谁看服装呢，我看你穿这黑毛衣也非常漂亮！”
