　　The 21st CENTURY speech contest was held on Friday afternoon in the lecture hall, Gaoxin

　　Campus. It was great. Each grade in our school had a speech contest. Eighteen candidates from Grade Six took part in it. The first three winners would go to the next grade.

　　All of the speakers prepared well for the speech. When the contest began, some of the speakers were very nervous as they were giving speech to the audience.

　　The thing that made me shocked was, when the speakers were giving a speech and the fellow students were so quiet that you could hear the speakers clearly. When our class speakers went up, our whole class was cheering, it was crazy. The speakers delivered their speeches very fluently that I couldn’t even do it so good.

　　I remember all of the speakers talked about their parents. They said all of the good things about their parents, but no one said their flaws. But I think everyone has already done a great job. They all did their best.

　　Congratulations to all the candidates on their excellent jobs. I hope all of them will do better and better in the future.

So when I went to school, I joined the basketball team in my class, we made up of a basketball team. Last week, we had our first match.

　　I was asked to play in the first time, I felt so nervous, I am so afraid that I could not cooperate with my team well. When the match started, I watched the basketball and moved as the ball flied, I forgot my job, I was asked to cover the team leader. I recognized my mistake, I changed my move, at last, I covered our captain successfully, our team won the game.

　　I learned so much from this match, team work comes first.

　　好激动啊！明天就是英语比赛了！晚上我一直睡不着，一直在想那里漂不漂亮，评委好不好，我在那里一直在想。三个字：睡不着！

　　终于到了这一天英语口语大赛，我急忙起床，洗好脸，吃完饭，准备好东西出发，我在车上看了一路的风景，老师说：“一个小时就到了，请大家耐心坐车。”终于到达汽车站，我们排好队伍向比赛场地走去。一到比赛场地，我发现我们竟然是第一个到比赛地的学校！

　　好兴奋啊！老师抽了几个牌子，我是50号所以我比较慢才轮到，前面几个同学回来告诉我：“哇，那个加拿大的外教真好，对着我们一直微微地笑。”终于轮到我了，我用眼瞥了一眼外教，发现他总是笑咪咪的`看着我。我想起来之前老师给我打气的话，瞬间就觉得不再紧张了，我的演讲顺顺利利就结束了。回来后，我很兴奋，一直在说外教和评委，我好开心地和同学玩起了游戏，等所有的同学比赛完了，大家才恋恋不舍的离开了比赛场地。后来，老师还带我们去三棵树公园，那里的风景美极了，绿树成荫，许多市民在那里游玩，散步、下棋。

　　回校的路上，我一直在想：这次比赛虽然结束了，但是今后更多的比赛正等待着我，我要时刻准备着，努力学习，锻炼好自己的本领，更重要的是我不会忘记常常开口说英语！

　　四、宣布比赛环节和评分细则

　　Now I would like to introduce the rules for the contest

　　Today's competition has two phases: The first phase is a 5 minutes’ speech show, which composes 60% of the score. In this part, the contestants are supposed to make a 3 minutes’ impromptu speech according to the topics , and then they will answer the questions raised by our judges, and the time limit is 2 minutes.

　　And the second phase is the role play of each contestant, which takes 40% of the final score. Every one of them will be given 5 minutes to display their role they selected beforehand.

　　After the performance by the contestants, our judges will give fair judgment according to the comprehensive performance of each contestant. We will have one champion, two second prizes winners, three third prize and the rest contestants will get the Excellence Award. I wish all of them achieve a lot, and have good luck.

　　今天早晨七点钟，我就起床了。上午，我要去参加“苏报杯”。

　　八点一刻，我来到了考试地点——胥江实验中学。我很快就找到了我的考场。我到考场的时候，很多人都来了。我先签到，然后就去找座位了。我发现我们的座位竟然是可以随便坐的。我找了一个靠边的位子，坐下等待考试的.开始。

　　铃声响了，监考的志愿者把试卷和草稿纸发给了我们。我拿到试卷后，先审题。这次考试一共要写两篇文章，第一篇是看图写对话，要求不少于八句话。我很快就写完了。

　　第二篇文章是让我们谈谈我们理想中的周末，120个词左右。正好类似的文章我前几天就写过，我的印象还很深刻。我写完后，时间还很多，我就数了数我的词数，一共167个。接着，我检查了一下我的单词有没有拼错，有没有语法错误。

　　九点半到了，我就交了卷子，离开了考场。

　　今天我们到青龙中学（六中）去参加双语比赛，我到了以后发现同学们差不多已经都到齐了。然后我们便自己准备起了英语短文，这样可以等待还没有来的同学。等到同学们都来齐了，Ms yu便带领我们进去了。校园里边特别漂亮，喷泉花坛、全塑胶跑道、参天大树还有整齐的教学楼，我们带队的同学竟然被这美丽的风景迷住了，差一点儿就带着同学们走到操场上。但是幸亏Ms yu叫住了我们，然后我们围成一个圈表演，李晓曷第一个，她上去以后背的非常快而且中文没背就想下去，被Ms yu一下退了回去背了中文，我是第二个上去的，我表情自如，动作加的非常到位但是Ms yu说我声音太小，语速太快。

　　终于工作人员过来说：“B组的同学比赛了，B组的赶紧过来！”我们排成两队走到大厅，然后工作人员点名，我是第6个。我们按顺序排好队后，就走进了初一九班，然后抽签按顺序号入座我15号、梅笑寒14号、宋淑涵13号和陈玥琦17号我觉得真的是太有缘了，第一组开始比赛了，是1—10号比赛。所以我们又等了漫长的几十分钟，终于轮到我们比赛了，我们进入了比赛场地，这时我看到了一个男老师，两个女老师，和一个女外教。夏侯杨子先上，他一上场就问了老师几个问题特别搞笑，然后才开始背的……，终于到了我上场了，我站的笔直背的.英文流利，中文标准，声音洪亮的都可以听见回音了，外教的问题也都全部答对了。所有的参赛选手都答的非常好，我们就退场了，我们出来以后Ms yu紧张的问我们答的怎么样？我们都说答的很好，听了我们的回答她的脸上露出了满意的笑容…………等过了漫长的1个小时，成绩出来了，我得了97分！全组（35人）第一名！我当时心里非常高兴：我今天能取得这么优异的成绩，和Ms yu平时的辛勤辅导是分不开的，在这里我要感谢Ms yu！

　　希望我在复赛中，继续取得优异的成绩！
