When I began my senior middle school years, I had difficulty in learning English. I dared not speak English aloud in public because of my poor pronunciation and intonation.I can not get high marks and grammar was not right at all.Afraid of being lanughed at,I never put up my hand to answer questions in English class.When Miss Li found out my situation,she encouraged me and lent me a hand,which rapidly improved my English.With her help,I became interested in English and eventually got high marks.

Drops of dew look like drops of rain, but they do not fall from clouds as raindrops do. They are formed from the water vapor in the air when moist air strikes a cold object. Dew does not stay on very long after the sun comes up.
The grass and other things on which the dew has formed soon get warm Then the dew changes into water vapor again This same water vapor may become dew again the next night if the weather is calm and fair.

前两天，学校高年级举行了英语演讲比赛，我作为班上的代表之一，前去观摩。
这次比赛无论是主持还是演讲，都是全英文的。东看看，西看看，竟来了不少我认识的人。学校的几位老师来做评委，还有一位外教呢！
比赛开始。首先，是两位主持人一番简短的介绍，然后选手开始挨个儿上台。每个人都有一份课件，上面是演讲内容，选手要流畅地背出稿子，才能得高分。他们一口流利的英语，听得我云里雾里。我不由得感叹道，这就是差距啊！不过根据课件上的英文，我还是认出了一些单词。
选手的'情况也不同：有的一口英语说得头头是道，听得人一愣一愣的；有的上了台过于紧张，忘了词，又下来整理整理思绪再上台；也有的背得不错，却出了一点小插曲的……可谓是千姿百态。
选手们讲的内容各不相同：有的流畅地讲了那些经典的故事；有的介绍了自己喜欢的动物或东西；还有的讲了自己从一句话或者一件事中感悟的道理……内容各不相同。
通过这次比赛，我深切地体会到了：人外有人，天外有天。我要更加努力地学习英语哟！
