The morning light spilled into the classroom, casting a warm glow as Angel stood at the front, her smile beaming. "Good morning, classmates," she greeted, her voice filled with cheer. "I have a couple of announcements that I'm excited to share with all of you!"
Xia Lei couldn't contain his excitement, blurting out, "Sister An, don't keep us in suspense! Spit it out already! We're dying to know!"
Angel's smile grew mysterious. "The first piece of news is that our monthly exams are scheduled for tomorrow, so make sure you're well-prepared! And the second piece of news is that after the exams, we'll be enjoying the National Day holiday. However, since we're in our second year of high school, the holiday is shortened to five days, with two days of makeup classes."
Xia Lei slumped, his enthusiasm dampened. "Sister An, that's not good news at all! It sounds more like bad news dressed up!"
Ning Lu interjected without hesitation, "You should see it as a favor. Now you won't have Aunt Xia complaining about you being idle every day!"
Xia Lei groaned, his expression one of resignation. "Sister, have mercy on me!"
Turning to Lu Yunjin, Xia Lei inquired, "Brother Lu, what are your plans for October 1st during the vacation?"
Lu Yunjin pretended to ponder, "Me? I'll be heading to the city center of Yinyang with Xing'er to meet up with some old friends."
Xia Lei and Ning Lu spoke in unison, "Boss, would you mind if a few more of us tag along?"
Lu Yunjin turned to Mu Yangxing, a hint of dilemma in his eyes. "Um... is that okay?"
Mu Yangxing, not lifting his head, responded matter-of-factly, "Of course it is."
