1.Today Phrase

“萝卜青菜各有所爱”：to each one's own, Everything has a right to have different preferences or make different choices.

eg: Hey, to each their own, I'm not going to judge you for that.

萝卜青菜各有所爱，我不会因此而评判你。

eg: I personally wouldn't have chosen such a flashy car, but to each his own.

我个人不会选择这样一辆显眼的车，但萝卜青菜各有所爱。

2.Gain Something From Dumb Argument

Sometimes you went in so deep into layers of the debate that you forgot what you were even fighting about. Well, when you just returned from a dumb argument, you'll see some arguments are unavoidable.

有时候你在辩论中陷得太深，以至于忘了你在争论什么。好吧，当你刚从一场愚蠢的争论中回来，你会发现有些争论是不可避免的。

But as long as you both come to some sort of mutual understanding, gain some valuable knowledge, and maintain respect for each other during the course of argument, then I don't consider it was a waste of time. Well, you may have nothing to gain if you try to convince the other. And you should also avoid the situation that you make yourself seem like the victim unintentionally when you are the actual problem.

但只要你们在争论中达成某种相互理解，获得一些有价值的知识，并保持对彼此的尊重，那么我不认为这是浪费时间。那么，如果你试图说服对方的话，可能对你没有任何好处。你也应该避免这样的情况，你让自己看起来像受害者无意中当你是实际的问题。
