On January 13, 1999, Hae Min Lee, an 18-year-old high school student from Baltimore, went missing, and later found that she was choked to death in a nearby park. In February of 2000, Adnan Syed, Lee’s ex-boyfriend was found guilty of murdering Lee, and currently serving a life sentence. The star witness at Syed’s trial was Jay Wilds, a former classmate who testified that he helped Syed dispose of Lee’s body.
Due to the interview of Jay recently, I have strong doubts about him and his role in the case. First of all, Jay has many roles in this murder. His existence is too strong that pushes me to think, why is he, why he has so much evidence that can side lead to the guilt of Adnan, why he changed his story, why he has proper perfect answer related to the sharp question. You know Andan’s answer is always not perfect and he is always not prepared for the crime question. And there’s only one reason for this, is that no one really thinks about how the questions related to the crime because he doesn’t commit the crime.
About Jay’s excuse of all the doubts I have above seem really weak and pale to me. His confession about the timeline is not really accurate and fit to the real situation, and there really weren’t any evidence or trip which is possible such as the security camera or the phone booth. And for the reason he didn’t like to contact the police, I think it’s really useless because his actions for drug trading is not really a good mature person could do. The most suspicious point is, why he could remember all the details in 1999, that most of the people didn’t even care about.
Jay is the murderer. He is so suspicious that if he is not the murderer, I can even say that I'm sorry for his drama and all the hard work to brush up the presence. He is smart, so as Adnan. Adnan is a smart and a hard working student in high school, so if he plan to murder Hae, why he has such a terrible case which full of holes.
And that’s the opposite of Jay. In the tapes and trial, he is so prepared and full of strong evidence that there’s no way he can be defeated. That brings my doubts. Adnan may be influenced by his religion and family tradition, but he is in a brand new environment and culture. No one is stupid and old-style all the time when he is young, besides he is smart. But Jay has a strong motivation, which is his girlfriend, Stephine. She is close to Adnan and it’s she to invite Adnan to Jay.
And there are several times that Jay mentioned Adnan could hurt Stephine if he doesn't listen to him. And he did say that he is so afraid that Adnan hurt Stephine, so why couldn’t he take actions first and protect Stephine from hidden danger forever? And he did mention that he doesn’t like Adnan when he first met him because it’s not his style. So why wouldn’t it imply that he didn’t like Adnan because of Stephine. In summary of the above all, Jay is the murderer, no objection, without doubts.
