Dear Wendy Izzy and Tom,
How are you?
Thanksgiving is coming again and I couldn't help myself but to miss you more. We spent two Thanksgivings together in Chongqing and each time you will make me some cards, so sweet. But now, we haven't seen each other for over a year and a half. When I saw the picture of Izzy you posted the other day, I was so happy and at the same time sad to tears. Anyway, it's so good to see that Izzy is happy and enjoying her leaves. What a lovely girl!
I have to say sorry that I have scarcely texted you since my graduation. And to be honest, things for me, should be better. After I failed the test to be a teacher in public schools and the teaching&research assistant in my university, eh, I'm now working as an online English teacher for children. Well, the working time is often in the evenings and the weekends. And it's just started for a dozen of days. Overall speaking, it's not bad for me. I'm happy with children, as always. I find it an interesting job with different students each day coming to my class. But my mother would worry that it's just a partime job...well there's much more freedom for me to figure out what else meaningful things I can do, yeah, more challenge too.
I read a lot before this job came and I have been keeping a diary for almost half a year to record days after graduation. Reading and writing suit me well. Oh and I went to Shanghai for a short academic meeting to learn about multimodality in language study and language deficits. I even talked about my graduation thesis there in a parallel session. It's about the multimodal dialogic resonance and intersubjectivity between autistic children and their teachers. Remember? I did a program of ASD children in school. I didn't make it a good one though. Luckily I learned a lot in Shanghai meeting. But I'm afraid I'm not into research career any more...After leaving school, some kind of new life begins. I shall explore wider of my life, right?
How are days there? Is Izzy loving school? Do you and Tom enjoy living and working there? Can Izzy speak French now?☺I wish my French could be better. How is your programming learning going? Is everyone good in the London family? Please send my regards to Linda and others, thanks.
Days in Chongqing are dark I have to say. There's little sunshine and always so cloudy. You might remember how it was when you were here. Chongqingese will try to be happier amd more hopeful by themselves. 🌻🌻
Best wishes and thanks for the days we were able to meet each other three times or more a week and the happiness and precious friendship you brought me. Lots of love. Keep healthy and happy please.
Yours,
Sophie.
