雅各布上校(英文)

My dear friends and comrades:

Today, I stand before you with a heart burdened by the most profound grief and an ache that pierces to the very core of my being. My son, Jacob Johnam, a brave soul and a true patriot, has left this world far too soon.

In the year 1941, the battle against the tyranny of the German forces raged on. My son, along with his fellow comrades, embarked on a mission of utmost importance – to bomb the German bunkers. In the heat of that fierce battle, with bullets and shrapnel flying in all directions, Jacob did not hesitate for a moment when it came to safeguarding his comrades. He threw himself into the line of fire, and the cruel shrapnel found its way into his body.

That selfless act of his, that moment of unwavering courage and dedication to his friends and the cause they fought for, is a testament to the kind of man he was. Jacob was not just a soldier; he was a hero in the truest sense of the word.

After that fateful day, as winter descended upon us, he was transferred to a hospital here in London. We held onto hope, prayed with all our hearts, and waited for a miracle. But alas, fate had other plans. My son, my pride and joy, passed away, leaving us in this world of pain and loss.

He was only 21 years old, a life brimming with potential and promise cut short by the brutality of war. But in his short life, he accomplished more than many do in a lifetime. His dedication to freedom, his love for his country and his comrades, and his unwavering spirit in the face of adversity will forever be an inspiration to us all.

Jacob was a son any father would be proud of. His smile, his determination, his kindness, and his unwavering sense of justice – all these qualities made him not only a wonderful son but also a beloved friend and a respected comrade.

I know that his loss is not only mine to bear but also that of his comrades, his friends, and all those who believed in the cause for which he gave his life. But let us not allow his sacrifice to be in vain. Let us carry on his fight, let us continue to strive for the freedom and peace he so valiantly fought for.

As I say goodbye to my son today, I do so with a heavy heart but also with a sense of pride and gratitude. Pride in the man he became and gratitude for the time we had together, no matter how brief it was.

Jacob, my son, may you rest in eternal peace. You will always live in our hearts and your spirit will guide us through these dark times.

Thank you.
