雅各布上校(英文)

The Terrifying Tale from Rotterdam

One gloomy evening, Colonel Jacob was sitting in his office, deep in thought, when his secretary, Mark, walked in with a pale face and a look of terror in his eyes.

"Colonel," Mark began, his voice trembling, "I need to tell you a story. A story that happened to me back in my hometown, a small town in Rotterdam."

Jacob raised an eyebrow, intrigued, and motioned for Mark to continue.

Mark took a deep breath and started. "It was a foggy night, much like this one. I was walking home alone after a late shift at the factory. The streets were deserted, and the only sound was the echo of my footsteps. As I turned into a narrow alley, I felt a sudden chill in the air. There was an old abandoned house at the end of the alley, and for some reason, I felt drawn to it.

As I approached the house, the door creaked open on its own. A gust of cold wind blew out, carrying a foul smell. My heart was pounding in my chest, but curiosity got the better of me, and I stepped inside.

The inside of the house was pitch dark. I fumbled for my flashlight and shone it around. The place was dilapidated, with cobwebs hanging from every corner and dust covering the floor. I heard strange noises, like whispers coming from all directions.

I started to panic. I wanted to run, but my legs felt like lead. Suddenly, I saw a figure in the corner of my eye. When I turned to look, it disappeared. I was sure I wasn't alone in that house.

I continued to explore, my hands shaking. In one room, I saw an old mirror. When I looked into it, I saw a distorted face that wasn't mine. I screamed and turned away, but when I looked back, the face was still there, staring at me with hollow eyes.

I ran as fast as I could, but the house seemed to go on forever. Doors closed in front of me, and windows shattered. I felt something grabbing at my feet, trying to pull me down.

Finally, I found the exit and stumbled out into the street. But even then, I felt like something was following me. Every shadow seemed to move, and every sound made my heart jump.

For days after that, I couldn't sleep. I kept seeing that house and those terrifying faces in my dreams. I still feel haunted by it to this day."

By the time Mark finished his story, Jacob was sitting on the edge of his seat, his heart racing. The room seemed to have grown colder, and an eerie silence hung in the air.
