Oh my goodness, in 1918, I, Diana, the wife of Colonel Jacob, really had enough to say about his crazy obsession. You know what? Jacob's been spending all our money and every waking moment trying to reclaim those insignificant overseas territories for the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
I mean, come on! He acts like those tiny patches of land are the keys to world peace and prosperity. "Oh, dear, if we don't get that speck of an island back, the whole world will fall apart!" he says. As if the fate of humanity hinges on a few square miles of tropical jungle or a barren rock in the middle of nowhere!
And don't get me started on the money. We could have had a beautiful house, new clothes, and maybe even a vacation. But no, it all goes to funding his little adventure to save the world, one forgotten outpost at a time. "Honey, we just need to spend our fortune on those desolate places so that the Netherlands can shine brighter than the sun!" he claims. Yeah, right!
I tell you, it's like he's fighting a war against boredom or something. "Oh, my dear wife, by reclaiming these lands, I'll become a hero and our names will go down in history!" Well, I'd rather have our names go down in the history of having a happy and comfortable life, thank you very much.
He's so determined, it's almost admirable. But seriously, sometimes I think he's lost his marbles. All this for some pieces of land that nobody even cares about!
